What changed in July 2025?
The UK government restricted Skilled Worker visas to RQF Level 6+ (graduate-level) occupations only. This means roles like care workers, lab technicians, and many technical positions are no longer eligible.
Key changes:
- Only graduate-level (RQF 6+) roles qualify for Skilled Worker visa
- General salary threshold raised to £38,700
- Health & Care Worker visa now has a separate, lower threshold of £29,000
- Certificate of Sponsorship costs increased 120% to £525
- English language requirement raised from B1 to B2
